How do I renew/expire my domain name?

This article explains how to renew or expire your Donhost-registered domain name in your hosting control panel.

This article applies to Shared Hosting, Reseller accounts and Dedicated Servers.

Login to your Donhost control panel.

Click the Domains link on the navigation bar.

This will take you to a new page which lists all of the domains you have registered within your control panel. You will then need to find the domain name in the list and click the Manage button.

Once you are on the Manage Domain page you should see the heading Use Auto Renewals. Next to this you should see Yes.

If you wish your domain name to automatically be renewed leave the Yes option as it is. If you wish for your domain name to expire, click on the Yes button, this will change the status to No which will allow the domain to expire at the expiration date.

Important: Failure to set a domain to expire before the renewal date will result in automatic renewal and thus the transaction cannot be refunded.

Please note: You will also be notified by email that a domain name is about to expire. Ensure that the email address for the Admin Contact is kept up to date on the Details page to avoid missing important domain name renewal reminders.

Important: The domain will only be renewed once we have received full payment of the invoice. If the payment is not received within 30 days of the renewal date, the domain will enter a redemption period and additional fees will be applied. If the domain is not renewed within the redemption period, it will be allowed to expire and will be available for purchase on the open market.
