How do I register a new domain name?

This article explains how to register a new domain name through your hosting control panel.

This article applies to Shared Hosting, Reseller accounts and Dedicated Servers.

1

Login to your Donhost control panel.

2

Click the Domains link on the navigation bar.

3

Click the Add Domain link

Tip: If you wish to add multiple domain names at once, click the Add Multiple Domains link and enter the domain names one per line into the Domains text box.

4

Select the New Registration radio button and enter the desired domain name into the Domain field without the www prefix.

5

Click Next.

The availability of each domain name will be checked. If the domain name is available for registration, select the number of years you would like to register it for and click Next to proceed.

6

Specify the Legal Registrant, Admin contact and Technical contact for the domain name(s).

The charges which will be incurred for the registration of your proposed domain name(s) are summarised at the top of the resulting page. If you have sufficient domain name tokens on your account to pay for a domain name, the domain is paid for using tokens, otherwise the cash price is shown.

7

Click Next.

A summary of the order will be displayed. Review the details carefully, then enter your PIN Number and click Register Domains.

Please note: It normally takes no longer than 24 hours for the registry to confirm successful registration and a further 24 hours for DNS to propagate and the domain name to become active.
