How do I configure auto responders for my email accounts?

This article explains how to set up an auto responder for an email address in the hosting control panel.

This article applies to Shared Hosting, Reseller accounts and Dedicated Servers.

An auto responder can send a standard text message to anyone who sends an email to an address at your domain. This can be used for purposes such as sending confirmations of orders and letting clients know if you are out of the office.

Creating An Auto Responder

1

Login to your Donhost control panel.

2

Browse to the Auto Responders page for the desired account. The resulting page will display any responders that are already present on the account.

3

Click Create Auto Responder.

4

Select the forwarding alias or POP3 mailbox address that the auto responder should act on from the drop-down menu.

5

Enter a default subject line and message body that you require to be sent by the auto responder. This will be received by anyone who sends an email to the address that the auto responder has been configured on.

Tip: You can enter "%S" in the subject or message which will be replaced with the subject of the original message in the automatic response.

6

Click Create Auto Responder.

Please note: An auto responder will only respond once per hour to each email address that it receives mail from.
