This article explains the meaning of the term primary domain name in the hosting control panel.
This article applies to Shared Hosting, Reseller accounts and Dedicated Servers.
The primary domain name is the master or first domain name which has been mapped to a hosting account. Multiple domain names can be mapped to a hosting account – see our Domain Mapping help article for more information.
Whilst the first domain name mapped to an account will be considered primary, that domain carries no additional privilege or priority over any subsequent domains mapped to your hosting account, each domain name will function equally.
